Hire UGC creators, with the hiring done for you

On a marketplace you pick the creator, write the brief and chase the video yourself. With Sup our team does that. We find the creators, write the brief with you, contract them, check each draft and pay them. You say yes or no at each step, and you pay for the content you approve.

  • $0 a month. You pay for the content you approve
  • The brief and the contract are written for you
  • Each draft is checked against your brief before you see it

Finding them

Creators chosen for your product, by a person

A marketplace shows you creator cards sorted by rating, and the choosing is yours. We search Instagram and TikTok live, across 350 million creators, and a person on our team watches each creator’s videos before you see a name. You get a short list and say yes or no.

  • Any niche, in any place
  • Chosen for fit with the product, not for follower count
  • A shortlist within 48 hours of your brief

The brief and the contract

The brief and the usage rights, written for you

A vague brief is the usual reason a video misses. We write the brief with you, and the creator replies with their idea before they film. Each creator signs an agreement that states what they make, how many rounds of changes you get and how long you may use the content.

  • The idea is agreed before anything is filmed
  • Usage rights as a length of time: 12 months is the usual term
  • 99% of our agreements allow 2 rounds of changes

Drafts

Every draft is checked before you watch it

When a creator uploads a draft, the tool watches the video and reads the caption. It lists each point of the brief and says whether it found it. You approve the version, or ask for a change with a note, and the creator uploads another.

  • Every version is numbered and kept
  • You pay only for content you approve
  • The creator is paid by us, by bank transfer

The detail

What hiring costs, and what a video takes

A UGC creator is a person who makes videos and photos of a product for the brand to use, on its own channels and in its ads. They are paid for the content and need no large following. The rest of this page gives what four marketplaces charge, what a UGC creator signs, who does what when we run it, and the mistakes to avoid.

The other way

What four UGC marketplaces charge

A marketplace is the right choice when you want one video quickly and have the time to choose, brief and review. These are the prices each one publishes. The creator’s own price for the content is on top in every row.

The agreement

What a UGC creator signs

A video without an agreement is a video you may not be able to run. These are the terms in our own UGC agreements. Yours are set in your own.

12 months of use

The usual term in our UGC agreements. Use covers the brand’s own channels and its ads. A shorter or a longer term is agreed before the creator films.

2 rounds of changes

In 99% of our creator agreements. A round is one set of notes from you and one new version from the creator.

Net 30 payment

The usual payment term. The creator is paid by us after you approve the content, so you send no payment to a creator yourself.

The agreement also names the product, the number of videos and photos, the dates and the payment term. The creator keeps ownership of the content and gives you a licence to use it. The full text of our creator agreement, clause by clause, is on the contracts page. To work out what wider rights are worth, use the usage rights calculator.

FAQ

Questions about hiring UGC creators

There are four ways: a marketplace, where you pick from creator cards; a search of Instagram and TikTok by hand; your own customers; or a team that does it for you. Sup is the last. We search Instagram and TikTok live, a person watches each creator’s videos, and you say yes or no to a shortlist within 48 hours of your brief.

A creator sets their own price for a video, and it varies with their experience and the rights you want. On a marketplace you also pay a monthly plan or a fee on each order: the table on this page gives four of them. Sup costs $0 a month. You pay each creator for the content you approve, and our fee comes out of the creator’s fee.

A shortlist comes back within 48 hours of your brief. The delivery dates are written into each creator’s agreement, so the timeline is set before anyone films. The creator films after the product arrives, so allow time for shipping.

The agreement says. In our UGC agreements the creator keeps ownership and gives you a licence to use the content, for a stated length of time, on your own channels and in your ads. 12 months is the usual term. Ask for the rights you need before the creator films, because adding them later costs more.

A filter finds accounts by subject, place and size. A person on our team then watches the creator’s recent videos and decides whether they suit the product. Across our campaigns, most creators dropped from a shortlist were dropped for brand fit, not for their numbers.

You ask for changes, with a note. The creator uploads a new version. 99% of our agreements allow 2 rounds of changes. You pay only for content you approve.

The product and where to get it, what to make, the points to cover, the call to action, the tags and the dates. It should say what the video is for, and leave the creator room to say it in their own way. Our free brief builder writes one in two minutes.

A UGC creator is paid to make content that you post and run as ads. They need no large following, because the content appears on your channels. An influencer is paid to post to their own followers. Many creators do both.
