2. Don Pedro Carnitaย 

Don Pedro is a pillar of the community and an example of the hard work and perseverance of Chicagoโ€™s Latin residents. They opened their doors in 1981 and have been churning out the good stuff ever since. Try the Taco de Carnita (braised pork)ย  or the Guisado de Carne de Puerco ( pork stew).ย

3. Cantรณn Regio Steakhouseย 

Specializing in Northern Mexican cuisine, this steak house is a tasty addition to your hitlist. As you might have guessed from the name, they do a good steak but you can also munch on grilled squid and chicken dishes, all prepared using the salsas, spices and marinades common in the North. It’s a popular place to grab a bite so expect to wait in line at peak periods.

5. La Vaca Margarita Bar

If itโ€™s Saturday night, and you want to get jiggy well into the early hours, this is the spot to consume your first several units of alcohol. La Vaca is well known for their heady pitchers of margarita that can be washed down with their box of twelve tacos or one of their freshly prepared enchiladas.
